Review // Aldi Plus Size Range

On the 8th May Aldi will be launching a plus size range of clothing. I was kindly sent a couple of the items that are in the first drop on the 8th to review.

I was asked what I would like to review and unfortunately they were unavailable so I was send knickers and a top.

The pants are great. Very comfy ribbed cotton with an a thick elastic band at the top so they don't move or fall down. They come in a 3 pack and will be on sale for £3.99 (No size range is stated, but as most items are a size 18-26, I presume these will be available in these sizes too). As a personal preference I would have prefered full pants as briefs often leave the dreaded VPL. (Sorry, no photos of my fat arse in pants!)

I was also sent a top which will be available in sizes 18-26 and in Red, Blue and Mocha. I asked to try a size 20 but received a size 22, which is huge on me, so I don't really feel I can share any photos with you as it is that big on me! I received the top in mocha, which is a horrible colour! I reminds me of baby shi poo.

On the positive side, the material feels lovely and its a good length, especially if you like to cover your bum and belly. The sizing is reallllly generous. The 22 that I was sent would easily fit a 24/26, so the range might fit up to a 28-30 instead of the size 26 stated.

I know Aldi is a budget range and maybe my expectations were too high, but I am really disappointed in the 'style' of the items I have seen so far. Companies like Asda and Primark have proved that 'fashion' can be done on a budget.

Aldi have priced other items higher that Primark too. Take the leggings for example. Aldi price £4.99, Primark Price £3.

And lets not even go down the bra route!! A large back size and cups size up to E just aren't good enough for a plus size range. In fact I don't think I know any plus size ladies that they would fit!

Aldi will also be dropping AW14 too. Items include a pair of jeans, a skirt, a cardigan and 70 denier black tights.

I feel really mean ungrateful now :-(

  1. Hi, don't feel ungrateful, I am sure Aldi appreciates your honesty and takes the feedback on board in order to improve their next items, xx

    1. I hope so, I dont really think they thought about it, just jumped on the bandwagon so to speak!
